The Sal and Bob Show

The Sal and Bob Show is a podcast hosted by comedians Sal Demilio and Bob Phillips.

They love steakhouses, so they visit some of the best in the country, crack wise and generally act like idiots while enjoying a great meal. They talk comedy, gambling, sports, movies and other things that interest us. With regular bits like the One Hit Wonder and The Whine List, it's a lively half hour of nonsense.

Sal and Bob are back with a brand new episode. They solve the vaccine troubles in the United States. They also select their picks for their own version of Woodstock. Basically, they pick their dream concert, if they could book any band in the world.

Also, if you haven't heard the news about the Fokkens sisters, then you're in for a doozy. Sal and Bob give their commentary on the identical twins who worked for years in the red light district of Amsterdam. They finally retired at the age of 70.

They also talk about comedy and comedy etiquette after Sal talks about the time Dave Chapelle dropped in on one of his shows on this edition of the Sal and Bob Show.

The biggest story of the week seems to be Jeff Bezo's going to space in what looked like a large penis. Also, a story about a woman losing her wedding ring in the trash at a Red Robin, and the employees dig through bags of trash to find it. It's a crazy world out there but Sal and Bob will help get you through it with their silly commentary on it all on this edition of The Sal and Bob Show.

Steak Bits: Funny Moments From the Sal and Bob Show
July 1, 2021

This week is a very special episode of The Sal and Bob Show featuring some memorable moments from the show.

The show starts with a clip from a recent episode where Sal talks about stopping at Burger King 3 times on his way home from a gig. Then the guys rant about Amway and what a scam it is in a clip from an older episode. They go on to talk about wedding food and how you have to lie to the bartender to get enough to drink.

On their trip to the famous Peter Luger Steakhouse in Brooklyn, New York they were told many times it's cash only. They both talk about what it's like paying for a steak dinner with cash. On their trip to Waffle House they break down the hash brown system and how to order correctly. The guys talk about Wayne Fontes and the time he tried to blame his kid for having cocaine in his car while talking about how tough it is to be a Lions fan. The only year Sal had season tickets for the lions was the year they went 0-16. Typical Sal Luck.

Then the guys chat with Josh Mankiewicz about his work on Dateline NBC and the crazy couples he reports on. Then, in their 4th of July special the guys talk fireworks and reminisce about Sal's dad and his passion for concrete. The next clip is of a recurring segment entitled "Mickey Yells at Rocky" with a scene from Rocky 2.

Bob tells a story from the most memorable Kentucky Derby Party he's been too. They talk about Jeff Bezos and the National Enquirer attempting to blackmail him. Sal and Bob share some interesting Las Vegas trivia. Then they check in with Josh again to talk about how dumb some of the murderers are. The show wraps up with some more Las Vegas trivia and Sal tells a story about stumbling into the AVN Awards.

Today, Mark still handpicks the club’s talent, searching the entire country and Canada for the very best talent available. On any given night, audiences have seen surprise guests such as Ron White, Lewis Black, Keegan Michael Key, David Copperfield, Brian Regan, and many other comedians pop in to watch the show or do a guest set.

Mark Ridley founded the three-comedian format which is a standard in today’s comedy club industry. Many of the local comedians come out of open mic night or through the comedy classes taught at Comedy Castle.

Comedy Castle hosts many charity fundraisers for the metro Detroit area and it can provide faith-based to PG 13 comedy acts. The Salvation Army has their annual “Comedy for A Cause” with Mark’s help in producing their show at the club each year.

Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle is largely regarded as one of the top 18+ comedy clubs in the country and is the club to perform at for many of the up-and-coming and established comedians.
